LORNA DOONE

Based on R.D. Blackmore's novel and filmed on the outskirts of Glasgow in the spring of 1990, this vivid production tells of John Ridd (Clive Owen), a young West Country yeoman during the lawless times of King James II. Ridd's father has been killed by the Doones, a clan of aristocratic but murderous outlaws who inhabit a neighbouring valley. John's search for vengeance is complicated by his love for Lorna (Polly Walker), a daughter of the Doone clan. Their passionate love for one another drives the story towards a thrilling and romantic climax.
