It looks like the Rome movie may not be dead after all. Several articles (one linked here) have come out saying creator Bruno Heller is still hoping to make a feature film. I remain skeptical, but would certainly love to see Polly's Atia again.

a Preview of SOASN at Raindance Film Festival In October
2006:
D.
Blum’s feature debut Scenes Of a Sexual
Nature is to close the 2006 Raindance Film Festival
on Sunday, October 8 at the Cineworld Haymarket, SW1.
The
screening will mark the world premiere of the film, which
boasts a stella British cast including Ewan McGregor,
comedienne Catherine Tate, Oscar-nominated actress Sophie
Okonedo, Adrian Lester, Andrew Lincoln, Douglas Hodge,
Gina McKee, Hugh Bonneville, Mark Strong and Polly
Walker.
Scenes
Of a Sexual Naturewas shot in less than one month for
a budget of under £500,000 by former Raindance film
course student, Ed Blum.
It
is set on London’s Hampstead Heath one glorious
August afternoon, where temperatures soar as seven couples
explore love, sex and relationships.
Ewan
McGregor and his Guys And Dolls co-star Douglas Hodge
play a gay couple who enjoy a strong open relationship,
but who are contemplating adopting a child.
Elsewhere,
Tom Hardy plays a young opportunist who’s trying
to get a woman (Sophie Okonedo) he’s met on the
Heath into bed, an endeavour made tricky by the fact that
she’s just split up with a long-term boyfriend.
Other
narratives involve two 40-somethings on a blind date picnic,
and a happily married couple who face a dilemma when the
wife catches her husband starring at a teenage girl’s
underwear. The film will be released nationwide in the
UK on November 3.
Missing
in action: Anyone who saw ``Rome" knows it's an embarrassment
of supporting-actor riches, including Lindsay Duncan,
Polly Walker, Kevin McKidd, Ray Stevenson,
and Ciaran Hinds. But I doubt many voters watched thegreat
HBO series. Also overlooked: Chloe Sevigny from ``Big
Love" and John Scurti, Andrea Roth, Diane Farr, and
Callie Thorne from ``Rescue Me" - The Boston Globe
'Screen
International' mentioned this was one of the British films
which had a 'buzz' about it and The Hollywood Reporter
noted that 'Scenes' was 'one of the hottest tickets
at the market'.
"Rome:
The Complete First Season (2005; HBO, unrated, $100):
As scheming Caesar niece Atia, Polly Walker
isn't very nice here, but I'd still let her peel me a
grape. Six discs, 12 episodes and lots of extras. "

TODAY
"The
scheming Atia, brought wickedly to life by Polly
Walker...HBO once again proves that they take
television seriously and this DVD set of "Rome"
is a release that every single DVD owner should have in
their collection. It is, hands down, among the best TV
productions I have ever seen, beating just about every
blockbuster movie release of last year to the punch!"
